Pench National Park, straddling the border of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, is named after the meandering Pench River that flows through it. This picturesque park is renowned for its rich biodiversity and is believed to have inspired Rudyard Kipling’s “The Jungle Book.”
Pench National Park is characterized by teak forests, open grasslands, and numerous water bodies, providing a diverse habitat for a wide range of wildlife. Visitors can expect to encounter Bengal tigers, Indian leopards, Indian wild dogs, and over 300 species of birds.
How to Reach Pench National Park
The nearest airports are Nagpur Airport (in Maharashtra) and Jabalpur Airport (in Madhya Pradesh), both approximately 90 kilometers away from the respective park entrances. From Nagpur or Jabalpur, you can hire a taxi or take a bus to reach Pench National Park.
